  • Description of the initiative
Our project focuses on the adaptation and improvement of spaces with technological
innovation in order to respond to the educational needs of youngsters in higher education for the local
network of businesses. We truly think that by expanding our limits to grow through motivational and
innovative spaces, students will boost their knowledge in their specific fields of expertise and practice.
Without a shadow of a doubt, students take advantage of educational learning spaces that have been
transformed into experiential practices. Consequently, they have a better performance in terms of work by
excellence and reliability. In fact, their qualification is crucial to ameliorate the technology business and
health frameworks of the towns and villages surrounded Bormujos, an urban area that is currently growing in
    these above-mentioned sectors.

    Technology field
The main aims of this project are related to IT sectors such as web and multiplatform developments, or
robotics. As well, they are linked to the health area (dental hygiene, clinic and biomedical laboratory,
anatomical pathology and radiology, among others). Therefore, spaces are addressed to create a real
experience, where students work on projects with authentic material. This transition to innovative spaces will boost cooperation with other sectors and businesses and will improve the quality of the living environment of our local area in terms of technology to meet local unity and preservation of the main green sectors of economy in Bormujos and the surrounding areas. Furthermore, these innovative learning spaces will make students adapt quickly to the sector sustainable needs by developing their skills and capabilities to create local-based green techniques that certainly will help the near environment.
From the aesthetics and quality experience, our project is directly related to students that will be able to experience the future context that they will have to experiment in the local businesses. Therefore, transforming learning spaces fosters students' awareness of equipments and contexts to have a very positive experience. Students will embrace a sensory experience by working on the same elements they will find later on when working in a real environment. As well, aesthetically this self-transformation flows with the whole Foundation that innovates and offers the best materials, resources and equipments for their students.
Transforming spaces will help students to share experiences and opportunities equally. It helps them to be close to their local businesses and their living environment. A feeling of belongingness to a space that needs to be quickly adapted for the global society we have is what this project focuses on. This is a method to bring the student the perspective of his or her area, but also to establish the right of every student to build and cooperate equally in a fast-paced changing society.
All the local business sectors that form a network of collaboration for our students to make their trainingship could be benefited from this initiative. Furthermore, it can serve to solve complex social environmental problems that emerge in a regular daily basis in business.
This project works with the idea of togetherness stand point to enhance and develop current and future paths of youth working access. For this purpose, we develop our education system and facilities to allow the local, regional and national industrial needs can be met with students' preparedness for job requirements
In this initial step we are focusing our efforts in the Tech, health care and science fields of expertise. The reason why we have selected these fields or areas is based on real working requirement and preparation needs, and the fact that a practical focus would allow students to reduce the learning curve of a new and demanding work environment.
The innovative character of this initiative is represented by the values and the character of the center itself. Transmiting innovation and self-improvement through evolution, changes and adaptation to the needs of the business network is an identity mark of the actions the center owns. Therefore, the Centre of Professional Studies in San Pablo CEU Andalusia Foundation is notorious in terms of technological advances, industrial relations, and high-tech updates.
In this case, this self-transformation could also be experienced by international students that come to our centre. In fact, they could serve as an example to other places or to motivate other learning institutions to cooperate and collaborate in projects that will benefitiate all our students. A clear example of what could be transferred would be the robotics equipment used.
Transforming learning spaces to give students the opportunity to work with real equipment and experience lessons and practises in authentic contexts. Learning by doing, practising, touching, experiencing, solving problems and facing real challenges.
We think that by providing local solutions and educating students from a local vision/perspective, we will be investing in global changes. As it is normally said "act locally to think globally", we truly believe that international dimensions can be reached from home. Changing and transforming infrastructures within classrooms will help students to experience another reality that will change the local business path when having access to a job vacancy.
The self-transformation project is aiming to keep on improving learning spaces, but so far, we have achieved a lot by developing more Higher Education plans that meet the local business requirements. As well, it has benefited students who can have a better trainingship and will be better prepared for their future jobs. In brief, for their two-year courses, they have to end up their formation in a trainingship plan of three months, so this initiative will help them to have more resources to access the job market.
We think our project contributes in some ways to create supportive learning environments for sustainability that span all activities and operations by an educational institution and enable teaching and learning that is hands-on, interdisciplinary and relevant to local contexts, and to be actively involve students and staff, local authorities, youth organisations and the research and innovation community in learning for sustainability, according to the European actions.
