About the New European Bauhaus in Regions and Cities Event:

21-22 June in Brussels, Belgium –

Venue: BE HERE, Rue Dieudonné Lefèvre, 4 1020 Bruxelles

The ‘New European Bauhaus in Regions and Cities’ event took place last week on 21-22 June, in Brussels. It provided the opportunity to reflect on the contribution of EU’s cohesion policy to the New European Bauhaus (NEB) initiative over the past three years.

With over 400 participants, it served as a forum for learning and exchange between project promoters, local and regional authorities, and other relevant stakeholders across EU. This interaction aimed at building a stronger connection and collaboration between these groups, explore funding opportunities, and boost the delivery of the NEB through cohesion programmes.

The event also welcomed representatives from Ukrainian Municipalities (Mykolayiv, Skadovsk, Lviv, and local communities in the Kyiv region) interested in preparing their reconstruction with a build back better principle, that embraces a sense of identity and belonging rooted in the local culture. The event served as a source of inspiration, encouraging fruitful exchanges, and nurturing a spirit of collaboration among Ukrainian stakeholders, with a strong focus on sustainable and inclusive practices.

The first day, 21 June, was dedicated to sessions among experts, technical workshops, and community building activities.

The second day of the event, 22 June, was open to the public and featured a high-level panel discussion, thematic parallel sessions, and the Awards Ceremony, where we celebrated and announced the 15 winners of the Prizes 2023 and the 14 selected projects of the first Innovative Actions call under the European Urban innovative.

You can watch the recording of the official opening followed by the High-level Panel, the thematic session: ‘NEB and the Green Transition’ and the Awards Ceremony here .
