Ideas laboratory and meeting place: participatory, inclusive, learn by experimenting, co-create
Ideas laboratory and meeting place.
A participatory and inclusive meeting space for local communities, with tools to co-create an eco-social transition, responding to local needs. A space for dissemination, training and advice on the sustainable use of natural resources, with participatory decision-making.
as Einstein said
"The mind is like a parachute, it only works if you open it"
Local communities can join forces and find solutions that improve life with participatory actions.

As an individual in partnership with other persons
A practical key is to offer the possibility of having their own experience and for the person to draw their own conclusions with experiential activities on the Costa da Morte.
Contribute to improving basic needs by putting the person and the planet at the center.
We start from DIWO (Do It With Others), a learning stream based on collaborative and participatory methodologies. A multidisciplinary team with 'invisible pedagogy' allows people to decide what they want to learn and how.
“Do it with others” is a joint project development model that allows communities with similar needs to work collaboratively on a task, project or other service by offering a collaborative platform with the participation of users and specialists.
Co-create, listen actively, learn as a team and look for ways of coexistence, generating a flow of change during the process. Involve public and private institutions for this. Detecting needs is part of the solution.
Work with forest communities, use, valorization and enhancement of economic, social, environmental and cultural resources.
Co-creation as a tool to care for the forest in a sustainable way as an ecosystem of multifunctional value and an inexhaustible source of resources.
It consists of linking the dynamics of use of own resources in the rural and coastal areas of the Costa da Morte linked to the rest of the Galician Community, following agro-ecological and social and environmental sustainability proposals. We have the opportunity to learn about various dynamic experiences related to areas such as communal property, the organic garden, the valorization of resources, forest management, alternative financing, the cooperative model, short marketing circuits, etc.
They are structural needs that cannot be resolved individually. The proposal is to address them jointly between associations, cooperatives and institutions with public-private agreements and the media.

Co-creation as a tool to care for the forest in a sustainable way as an ecosystem of multifunctional value and an inexhaustible source of resources. With the aim of paying attention to covering the basic needs of everyone without leaving anyone behind, taking care of our ecosystem, putting the person and the planet at the center, we work in these three lines:
Social objectives:
- Participatory and inclusive methodologies.
- Social cohesion and communication.
- Participation and social inclusion, build community.
- Recovery of the technological heritage of the Cromlech "Eira das meigas".
- Social anthropology and transmission of knowledge.
- Social dynamics for joint decision-making, conflict resolution.
Environmental objectives:
- Recovery of environmental impact
- Sustainable water management
- Interventions and sustainable management
- Reduce the consumption
- Substitute the consumption of products/materials/components that are harmful to the environment with others that are more sustainable and less harmful to the environment.
- Reduce waste generation.
Economic objectives:
- Search for financial aid and investment to develop the projects.
- Training.
- Technical assistance, promotion of quality green employment.
They are structural needs that cannot be resolved individually. The proposal is to address them jointly between associations, cooperatives and institutions with public-private agreements and the media. Thus, these objectives are intended to be met in a collaborative, inclusive, and participatory manner, through short, medium, and long-term programs.
Aesthetics is based on the ethics of uses, the ethics of real needs, the ethics of timely scale, proportionality, local materials, recognition of a job well done. The aesthetics of authenticity, good work, quality and suitability of materials and uses. The aesthetics of the real, of the authentic, of what is.
This formula does not fail, some good potatoes with a little octopus, some sands of salt, a splash of oil and good hot paprika. Made in a field kitchen under a canvas and served at a fair for more than 1,000 people, on a table and accompanied by a cunca of wine and good bread. They are 10 Michelin stars. It cannot have more flavor, there is no more authentic experience with more than 100 years that was born with a need to feed people who come to the fair once a month to buy from their remote communities and today it cannot have a more aesthetic contemporary.
Through inclusive and participatory methodologies, local communities join forces, get involved and generate a current of change during the process. Transmitting the importance of cooperative work and social participation is essential for sustainable development: economic, social, environmental and cultural.
A practical key is to offer the possibility for people to create their own experience and draw their own conclusions, through experiential activities on the "Costa da Morte", associating university research projects with local needs, etc. The objective is to cover the basic needs of everyone without leaving anyone behind, putting the person and the planet at the center.
"Do it with others" is a joint project development model that allows communities with similar needs to work collaboratively on a task, project or other service by offering a collaborative platform with the participation of users and specialists.
From each community, with a multidisciplinary team, it analyzes, plans, creates and evaluates a project that responds to the needs raised in each situation and/or real problem. Meeting the needs of everyone, young people and adults, especially considering those cases in which there may be a risk of social exclusion
- Use correct terms
- Inclusion creates a sense of belonging for all
- Focus on the person
- Learn to accept our differences
- Be aware of your own biases and assumptions
- Debunk myths about disability
- Recognize inclusion as everyone's job
Promote inclusive language
- Co-creation of internal groups
- Co-creation of mentoring programs
Difference, acceptance of diversity, is an enriching value of our society. Including difference creates a sense of belonging for everyone. When everyone feels like they belong, they can better contribute to their community and cooperation. We accompany each community, facilitating proposals to include the difference, to improve the skills, opportunities and dignity of disadvantaged people, so that they can participate in society.
The move from exclusion to inclusion does not happen overnight, it is gradual and requires a long-term commitment. It begins with the knowledge and recognition of excluded groups, often “invisible” or forgotten, overcoming negative beliefs and stereotypes to create the necessary conditions for equal opportunities. Putting the focus on better support services, including people who are usually excluded in the community, facilitating their participation and assuming the responsibility of solving the needs among all of us.
The initiative promotes improving the lives of people in rural areas and establishing a population there, where the aging of the population is increasing. With the co-responsibility of finding ourselves, the ways of living together in the community that we want that we want.
Through participatory processes, solutions can be found by valuing their own resources and sharing the responsibility of leading the community towards shared objectives.
We work with active entities and with others that can be reactivated, generating a current of change during the process and transmitting the importance of cooperative work and social participation to transform paralyzing dynamics and routines: Neighborhood associations, families of students. s, cultural, health, environmental, agro-ecological, forestry, technological, nurseries, agricultural cooperatives, vocational training centers, rural entrepreneurship groups, business. Etc.
Co-creating in a multidisciplinary team using an 'invisible pedagogy' allows us to decide what we want to learn and how. "Do It With Others" is a project development model that allows like-minded people to work collaboratively on a task, project, or other service. The initiative projects a platform for collaboration between people, associations, cooperatives, institutions and companies with the participation of the general public with specialists to achieve a goal or objective.
With the mutual support of a collaboration platform between people, associations, cooperatives and institutions with the participation of the general public with specialists to achieve a goal or objective.
Locally:
The local forest communities have been key in the implementation of this project since its inception. We jointly developed the pilot project with the support of experts in social innovation, local development, community building, co-creation and circular economy.
Forest Communities are responsible for the administration and sustainable use of forests in order to maintain and conserve their biodiversity, productivity and regeneration capacity, through responsible and sustainable use, from an ecological, social and cultural point of view.
At regional level:
We have the opportunity to learn about various dynamic experiences related to areas such as communal property, organic gardens, the enhancement of resources, forest management, alternative financing, the cooperative model, short marketing circuits, etc. It consists of linking the dynamics of use of own resources in the rural and coastal areas of the Costa da Morte to the rest of the Galician Community, following agroecological and social and environmental sustainability proposals.
At National and European level:
We face structural needs that cannot be solved individually. The proposal is to address them jointly between associations, cooperatives and institutions with public-private agreements and the media.
The design of the initiative stems from an interdisciplinary needs analysis, a necessary approach to face the eco-social transition, which must take into account multiple interests such as sustainability, social problems, the local economy, green quality employment, etc. . The approach from different fields of knowledge, in processes with a bottom-up methodology, is representative of a way to act locally on global issues. These different disciplines are specified in the following:
- Service design: creating sustainable solutions and optimal experiences both for users in unique contexts and for the service providers involved. We provide Design Thinking methodology to advance by testing each case in a practical and real way.
- Economy: feasibility study. Study, evaluate the financial situation and propose its continuous improvement.
- Forestry: sustainable management, conservation and use of forests. Attending to hunting and fish resources, hydrological correction works and forest roads, and the management of natural areas for various purposes.
- Agronomists: knowledge of the internal and external factors that influence the growth and development of plants and animal species of food importance.
- Social education: help, support and protection for vulnerable people or those at risk of social exclusion. Accompaniment to people to improve their reality.
- Social anthropology: study of social structures. Attention to culture and the forms of organization and social interaction linked to it.
- Architecture: application of criteria of bio-construction, bio-climatic, energy efficiency. Design of spaces optimizing resources and seeking the well-being of the people who will inhabit them.
- Trades specialized in bio-construction: offering training in carpentry, masonry, stonework, etc.
The particular thing is to do it ourselves. Co-creating multidisciplinary teams with "invisible pedagogy" that allow people to decide what they want to learn and how. Participatory methodologies are used to reach agreements and establish alliances between public and private institutions, enhancing relational capital and sharing experiences and content with the media, social networks of associations, social market, giving visibility to the project in a collaborative way.
The importance of exploring new systems of participation and codecision. When you have the population and leave space, many ideas and commitments arise and an important part of diversity and creativity is rescued. With critical thinking and awareness of their own opinions, aspirations and limitations, valuing the times and context of each person.
Assuming shared responsibility and a fundamental role as an integrator, promoting shared projects, improving relationships, trust, joy, co-creation in a collaborative, inclusive way, with shared decision-making, conflict resolution. To permanently promote innovation, "networking" and improve communication, which is currently very precarious. Promoting demonstration projects, localization and mapping, designing communication mechanisms based on "word of mouth", rescuing traditional knowledge for environmental care.
In a context in which the eco-social transition faces great difficulties due to the short-term vision and the complexity of decision-making, a systemic solution to a structural problem, possible to reproduce and accessible to other communities on a local scale it allows other communities, professionals and local administrations to commit to everyday resilience and thus participate in the eco-social transition.
We started with a pilot on the "Costa da Morte" (A Coruña) and it will be replicated in other communities. Creating NETWORKS that generate improvements by stimulating the construction of a just and sustainable eco-social transition.
It is an open shared co-creation project that will document and share the entire process and methodology. We will document everything with an audiovisual production company to produce a series with the aim of spreading it on platforms, social networks, events, festivals, etc.
Trust is facilitated and enhanced so that each community can solve their own problems collaboratively, learning and helping each other, putting people and the planet at the center. It is very necessary to weave networks and the wider they are, the more potential they have and the more confidence they bring.
We resolve queries from students, users, professionals and offer the possibility to visit the site and experience, evaluate and discuss the project first hand. In addition, we use each project to show communities what can be done sustainably, with natural materials, and what solutions are possible.
Strengthening communication to work on a global problem, and here in particular, which is individualism. One cannot handle structural problems alone, support, help, sharing is necessary. Confidence and joy is contagious, it is very important to ignite that spark. The values stick, they live, they feel, they are transmitted with facts, with experiences, thinking together, working on soft skills.
Being part of a broader network to share and deepen how society, the social and solidarity economy is structured. Know more references, complement each other and learn to apply these concepts in other communities. It seems very important to us to promote those projects that are unconnected today and that it is very necessary to connect.
For us, the "how" you do it is very important, the nuances, the details.
Design Thinking is a design methodology to generate innovative ideas that focuses its effectiveness on understanding and providing solutions to the real needs of users.
It is an iterative process, it is not linear, since it is a process that serves to address complex challenges made up of so-called wicked problems, problems that are complex to define and solve, and that will be discovered over time. the implementation of the process.
We start by collecting documentation based on local needs and knowledge, generating a large amount of content, which will grow or shrink depending on the phase you are in.
It is centered on people and places the human being and the environment at the center of the entire process.
The goal is to create sustainable products or services that people find useful and that meet their needs. The user is involved in all stages of product or service development.
Show it, don't tell it, the ideation process is communicated visually, drawing the attention of the people involved, through illustrative images, creating experiences and telling good stories.
Radical collaboration: It is essential that the creative team is made up of people from different disciplines and points of view.
Culture of experimentation: having prototypes is essential to visualize the solution to the problem. This allows the person to use their senses in experimenting with the product or service in order to make the necessary adjustments at an early stage and at a low cost.
Incitement to action, from idea to action. By integrating people into the development of the product or service, so that they participate in the process and test its usability.
It is a circular process that begins with empathizing, defining, ideating, prototyping and evaluating and can constantly improve the product or service.
The ideas laboratory and meeting place implements specialized teams to reinforce local actions to mitigate multiple global crises, collectively.
We work to address these needs by noting the lack of solutions, tools and strategies to act concretely on multiple crises at different scales. This is a dangerous path towards skepticism and inaction.
Connecting with the UN Sustainable Development Goals, especially:
3. Health and well-being. Bio-construction offers infrastructures made with non-toxic materials, which has an impact on people's health and well-being.
7. Affordable and clean energy. Betting on renewable energy and energy efficiency.
8. Decent work and economic growth. Development and reinvention of rural areas and their economies using their existing potentials.
9. Industry innovation and infrastructures. Construction innovation and circularity: minimizing the ecological footprint, proposing the use of reused, reusable and recyclable materials, favoring local labor and resources, and generally reducing materials, energy and natural resources throughout the entire process. of construction and infrastructure life
11. Sustainable cities and communities. The ideas laboratory and meeting point promotes the development of local networks, eco-social, economic and social circuits with collaborative and supportive practices.
12. Responsible production and consumption. With eco-social practices and solidarity networks, communities get actively involved and increase and modify their activities, work and infrastructures in a more sustainable way for a new balance between bio-construction, production and consumption at a local scale.
13. Climate action. Respect for the natural environment, offer alternatives to conventional construction methods with a greater environmental impact.
15. Life of terrestrial ecosystems. The initiative offers a commitment to sustainable forest management.
After a needs analysis phase, based on different objectives that the forest communities detect and share, the project team proposes solutions to those needs that can be addressed in the short term and with the available resources and offers an analysis of other needs, that, due to various circumstances, cannot be addressed at this time by drawing up a medium-long term action plan.
Classification of needs:
Social: Participatory and inclusive methodologies - Social cohesion and communication - Participation and social inclusion, building community - Recovery of the ethnographic heritage of the "Age of the Witches" - Social anthropology and transmission of knowledge - Social dynamics for joint decision-making, resolution of conflicts
Environmental: Recovery of environmental impact - Sustainable water management - Interventions and sustainable management - Reduce consumption - Reduce waste generation.
Economic: Feasibility study - Search for economic aid and investment to develop the projects - Technical assistance
Within the needs analysis, three sub-phases are developed:
Recognition phase: Where we are (search for solutions to a problem, new ideas), where we started from - Collection of information and analysis of the symptoms of the problem. - Community analysis. - People involved in the process.
Needs analysis process: Understanding the problem and analyzing it from different perspectives - Planning what we can do and where we want to go - Intervention solutions and impact evaluation.
Diagnosis phase: Identification of the current situation. - of the desirable situation - Potential - Factors - Feeling - Problem.
Due to the experimental nature of this initiative, a pilot project is developed with the support of experts in social innovation, local development, community building, co-creation and circular economy.
Improves and develops knowledge, skills and attitudes to live, work and act sustainably.
Compared to conventional construction, bio-construction offers respect for the environment, health and energy efficiency as advantages. It is a tool to walk towards an eco-social transition, to develop knowledge, skills, attitudes and values to live sustainably, change consumption patterns and contribute to a "greener" future.
Develop new skills on bio-construction, directed by bioclimatic experts and taught by professionals with extensive academic experience linked to the execution of works in bio-construction and proven professional practice. It is valuable to promote measures that contribute to the green transition and the strengthening of competencies in sustainability. Practical training in bio-construction trades and on occupational risk prevention in construction, carpentry, structure, flooring and roofing, living ceilings, light frameworks, insulation, earthen plaster and introduction to lime is especially relevant due to the employability of responsible and sustainable manner, as well as for the strength of communities and their economies.
It sensitizes schools, families and communities in general about the importance of bio-construction, the primary sector, km0 products, ecology or permaculture. With this, the development of skills necessary for the green transition is extended to the population, which includes critical thinking, taking initiatives, respect for nature and understanding the impact that daily actions and decisions have on the environment. environment and global climate.
It provides users with knowledge, skills and attitudes that help communities become agents of change and contribute individually and collectively to sustainable development.
