,,Clean trails, clean mind-BIKE YOUR GARBAGE” intends to create awareness of the importance of the cycling as a sport that educates and take care of personal health and especially taking care of the environment. Being in touch with the nature as I natural space for cyclists, we are all witnesses of uncontrolled waste production and still not having the responsibility for taking care of the garbage as a personal obligation.

Please provide a summary of your project.
,,Clean trails, clean mind-BIKE YOUR GARBAGE” intends to create awareness of the importance of the cycling as a sport that educates and take care of personal health and especially taking care of the environment. Being in touch with the nature as I natural space for cyclists, we are all witnesses of uncontrolled waste production and still not having the responsibility for taking care of the garbage as a personal obligation.
,,Clean trails, clean mind-BIKE YOUR GARBAGE” through 5 bike eco actions in different cities and locations in North Macedonia will animate young people, mostly primary and secondary schools as well and their parents as a support, to get involved through the cycling activities and to get aware of the importance of taking care of the environment as a natural habitat. These eco actions will point to certain places overfilled with waste where our help for saving the environment is necessary. The expected outcome is to educate and to get healthy habits, to wake up the awareness and the responsibility at young age that will invest in their future behavior and their respect of the nature.
The eco bike actions will be consisted by bike tour to the certain location, action for cleaning the waste, packing and transport to local waste landfill, marking the location with eco bins, signs, etc.

Sport is the most powerful tool for building a society with real values. Caring for health and the environment are the priorities that should exist at the core of every human being. Mutual understanding, respect, trust and fostering awareness of the state in which natural wealth is located is of primary importance for everyone's future. Education through the prism of sport is the noblest characteristic that this discipline has shown over the years as a way to successfully overcome numerous obstacles.

With this project, CC Energi will create an initiative to raise public awareness, especially among the younger generations, to care for the environment as a common home that we share now, but also, a home that we should preserve for future generations.

By organizing five eco actions that involves cycling ,,Clean trails, clean mind – BIKE YOUR GARBAGE” combines a sports activity, educational workshop and eco action. CC Energi will recruit a larger group of young people and their parents to take a part in a concrete action in few waste endangered places in Skopje, Stip and Ohrid.

Through five bike-eco actions, young people will be stimulated to regularly practice of cycling and care for the cleanliness of the trail as a necessary habit to preserve the natural environment pointing the need to change the awareness of the population.

Sport is the most powerful tool that educates, corrects and creates awareness of healthy living habits. Hence, the project will contribute to continuous monitoring of the conditions in the natural areas with spontaneous, voluntary actions for intervention and preservation of the most valuable thing - nature.

Project: Clean trails, clean mind – BIKE YOUR GARBAGE

The ENERGI Cycling Club from Skopje was founded in 2007 by a group of cycling enthusiasts, with the aim of a club that will promote cycling and environmental care in every way. CC Energi is an open, friendly club that encourages people to ride bicycles, to compete, to take care of the nature, to earn healthy habits.

In the past years CC Energi has been organizing cycling races, marathons, workshops, youth school programs, eco actions. All of them are leaded by the coaches of the CC Energi, persons dedicated to the cycling as a sport, eco activists end voluntaries.

Among the events that CC Energi has been organizing through the years are: Velo Plan-cycling school for young, Cycle for health-cycling youth school program, Mavrovo XCO Marathon, XCO Tresonce-MTB race, Uphill Vodno-MTB race, Weekend Bike tours, Eco actions etc.

The purpose of the activities of CC Energi is to promote cycling as a sport that nurtures physical and mental health and at the same time educates young people and adults and encourages socializing, communication and overcoming differences at all levels through the prism of the sport.

This project is sutuable for all ages and profiles. All the programs and action are adjustable due to the needs and possibilities of the involved.

Clean trails, clean mind-BIKE YOUR GARBAGE” will recruit young people and their parents with the mediation of all local cycling clubs and associations in Skopje, Stip and Ohrid. CC Energi with a widespread network in the world of cycling in North Macedonia, will effectively transmit information with excellent logistical support and organization. The aim of the project is to attract young people aged 12 to 18 and their parents to support the eco-actions. It is expected that each action will involve 60 to 80 participants.

This project was realised on local, reginal and national level with the support of the City of Skopje.

The project regruted and motivated a group of young people to change the perception of the importance of the nature. Combining the awearness moduls with sport activity as cycling, impact on their everyday life, the health care and impovment of the social acceptance of the necessety of changing the habbits. They continued to take part in the regular eco actions and to replace all the other ways of transport with the bike.

The project has dual standards proposal. The outcome of the actions is saving the nature, the enviormental health , and in the sametime care for the human health throught he prizm of sport.

The project will be realized in few phases:promotion, regrutation, sustainability, results. All the activiteis will be leaded by professionals in their own field.
