  • Description of the concept
The orphanage in Loango owns 10 hectares of land in the village of Niolo, 10 km away. The plan is to use the land to create a farm, the operation of which would contribute and enable financial support for the operation of the orphanage. In connection with this, there should be accommodation for the farm manager, a storage room for tools and accommodation for children from the orphanage, who could come during the holidays and learn about the operation of the farm. There are currently two small buildings on the property that are inadequate. The project was created with the cooperation of a Czech charity and architects. As part of the charity collection, money will be collected for the implementation of the project in Niolo in DR Congo. If everything works out, the building will be realized. The project - design, marketing, charity, solution is created as a voluntary activity. The land is transformed into a mosaic of fields and orchards with various agricultural uses. In the southern corner of the property, there is a home for orphans and the caretaker's farm family, and then a repaired "larger" existing storage house, a sanitary facilities facility, and an insaka social meeting space, typical of the local culture. The "smaller" existing building is recycled as a source of material due to its location on the plot and its poor condition. The object is thus self-sufficient off grid thanks using of PV panels. Rainwater is collected in retention tanks and used for washing, cleaning and hygiene, irrigation. The material solution uses local materials and technologies and processes so that the building retains the local atmosphere and is maintainable without complications. We create a sustainable architecture and a pleasant environment for social interaction and knowledge. The project is created from a very limited budget. But it's about investing it right. We show that sustainable architecture is affordable and has a much greater impact in developing countries.

Off grid self-sufficiency in the African environment. The absence of grids and pleasant solar climatic conditions encourage the use of renewable energy sources such as PV panels, storage and the lighting of Africa. Similarly, you can work with rainwater during the rainy season. The whole proposal is based on zerowaste and crandle to crandle and re-use methods. We only work with what we have and what the environment offers us. The construction does not generate waste and is completely recyclable. The project envisages purchasing only from local manufacturers and businesses or re-using items. Africa must not become a dumping ground. Thanks to renewable energy sources, we will provide light and electricity to places where there is none. LCA produce minimal waste, all waste will be recyclable or bio-based. Clay plasters regulate the humidity in the space well. Even this can be turned into a quality solution. Examples of frugal architecture according to the methods of future Europe. We can show in Europe that these ideas are available for everyone and for every environment. Missing water is a major shortage in Africa. Its cleaning and accumulation is not such a complicated matter. The project clearly shows that complex architecture influences the UN sustainable goals. As a reference, we can show Africa the next direction of development. They can skip certain development periods in Europe and jump straight into the "green deal era."
The proposal is a multi-functional house that is based on local tradition, materials and technologies, but responds to contemporary times and sustainable development. We acknowledge the materials and use clay plasters and adobe bricks which are 100% degradable materials. The building is designed as a children's attraction and community center. The heart of the house is the social veranda in the kitchen area. The black wall functions as a blackboard on which you can project, draw, write assignments, educate, create art or play. The Cera terrace and veranda is at the height of the seating, so it functions as a bench with a 360-degree view and at the same time protects against animals. The grills in the windows protect, but their aesthetic rendering creates a direct contact with nature and more of a sense of aesthetics and art than towering. It's a window alternative, not a limitation. The double roof made of trapezoidal sheet metal and palm leaves combines the properties and the roof is durable, does not overheat, dampens the noise from the rain and blends in with the surrounding jungle. From the remaining materials, we create a low-cost playground, a place that combines housing with the field. The playground is a place of convergence.
The event was created as a voluntary collaboration between Czech architects and a charity. The project was created in free time and brought together people from the Czech Republic and the African DR Congo. Mutual consultations and presentations bring knowledge and respect in the form of cross-education. The project shows a social synergy where each participant contributed their contribution. Local people will create a desire to change their living situation, they will provide the background with a demonstration of identity and culture. Thus we created relationships and mutual enrichment of all involved. The free form of the proposal gives elements of participation of all participants. People from Africa can say that they designed the house with us, not that they got it from us. The connection between the farmer and the orphanage creates a relationship of mutual help. The object is guarded and looked after by an expert. Children can help the farm, learn, gain rewards and experience for adult life. They do not have their own family, so they form their own community and can take care of themselves and others. The spaces in the project are designed as shared community spaces, but everyone can find their own private corner. An open porch with a black wall that doubles as a blackboard is a place for education, handing out work, art making, play and fun.
The event was created as a voluntary collaboration between Czech architects and a charity. The project was created in free time and brought together people from the Czech Republic and the African DR Congo. Mutual consultations and presentations bring knowledge and respect in the form of cross-education. In Africa, the project is represented by a Christian pastor and his orphanage for foundlings. The money for the building will be raised through a fundraising campaign and charity. The construction will be carried out with the help of volunteers from the Czech Republic and local people who will build the project for themselves. Volunteers will live in an African village. The design is made only from local materials and technologies and according to tradition. The locals will build the house for themselves, which creates a greater emotional bond to the property and the work. Local people are therefore co-authors. Locals can repair the house and everything for maintenance is available. The solution concept will be based on "hands on!" and "cross-education." There will be a mutual enrichment of life and one will discover that the same amount of money can have an incredible benefit for some people. The house is multi-functional and will have a great sociological impact for the local people. They are from different tribes, which will contribute to bonding and understanding. Diverse tribal affiliation is sometimes reflected in Congolese society as strong social segregation. It is architecture for people. In this way, people in a very poor area will receive a start-up project for the development of their company. The project is designed on the basis of social synergy and circular economics. People themselves must want to start a change for the better, not run away. So we give them a catalyst. All participants will take away experience and a good feeling for life.

Residents of the region promote the given project with respect and help with implementation. National politics will take the project as an opportunity and the trip as envy and an opportunity to boycott and exploit. Europe can provide knowledge, experience, open support for the cause. Teach more than give freely. Improve multinational relations and cooperation.
The team consists of architects who have created a pleasant space for people according to local tradition and identity and effective use of a limited budget. They use local climatic conditions to collect water and produce their own electricity with the help of PV panels. The created concept of sustainable architecture is based on the UN SDG and shows that the influence of sustainable architecture is much more pronounced and beneficial for the same budget in developing countries. People from the charity and the orphan foundation visit the place in the Congo. They consulted with the architects on their experience, local traditions and society in order to design the project correctly. The local priest explains and interprets everything in Africa and educates young people. Contributors to the charity collection put their finances, kindness and selflessness into the project. Media platforms can present the matter and show other meanings of life. All people can come together or be in contact to create a synergy of society from different layers and places.
Hands on! Respect between craftsmen and designers. Creating a relationship of mutual knowledge and understanding. Joint solution of the work.
Cross-education. Getting to know all the participants of the event, mutual sharing and transfer of ideas, experiences and know-how. Like in our case the Czechia and the Congo.

The project is a response to the security of the right to housing for people without families. How to create a quality sustainable environment and housing for similar money that uses renewable energy sources and local people, crafts and materials. The construction does not generate waste and is completely recyclable. The project envisages purchasing only from local manufacturers and businesses or re-using items. Africa must not become a dumping ground. Thanks to renewable energy sources, we will provide light and electricity to places where there is none. A specific project creates jobs and food for local people. The key is the diagram of the circular society created. Local people see the European construction solution as luxury and direction, yet it has no identity and often spends money on overpriced accessories or has no money at all. This is an effective use of the budget to create sustainable architecture with reference to local tradition that responds to global developments.
