    Sustainable waves in deprived communities

    What about Nature4Life?
    In deprived areas, such as rural or rromani communities, youngsters from the Oradea city under the guidance of members of Pro Time-R Association in partnership with representatives of some companies from industrial parks and salubrity companies ,spread the concept of Nature4Life by active workshops and common campaigns of nature cleaning from the above mentined communities.

  • Description of the initiative
    Nature4Life - a regional project designed by city youngsters for deprived communities in deprived areas having as aim the spread of good and responsible habits regarding sustainability, through non formal education , with outdoor activities underlining the importance of a clean nature environment for leading a healthy lifestyle
    Youth volunteeers were selected to design themselves activities for their fellows in the targeted deprived areas that would involved the hole deprived comunity through non formal educational methods, helped by volunteers of industrial companies and salubrity companies as suppliers for offering to these communities selective garbege cans and tools for maintaining it.
    It was designed targeting pier to pier sharing , from youngster to youngster and than waving towards the targeted community by outdoor common games, collecting garbage activities, eating together the sense of responsability for a clean nature and sustainable environment

    Sharing the concept of Nature4Life from yongsters to yongsters of deprived areas( rural and rromani communities)were our most essential objectives that lead to offer to the city youngsters the opportunity to get involved in organizing and implementing campaigns about sustainabity, the importance of nature in our life and how to collect garbage in a responsable way; then collecting wastes in the nature with the communities and volunteers of the companies from the industrial park, All ending with common sport activities in nature where youngsters from the city could acknowledge the greatness of pure nature.
    Giving youngsters the power to be change makers in implementing sustainable habits for deprived communities first through active wirkshops with youngsters from these communities,then collecting waste and garbage with volunteers from companies,sharing good practices of team work and leadership , all lead to a fruitfull win win context from all sides:
    City youngsters being involved directly; deprived communities being guided in a sustainable world with responsible mentality , volunteers from companies helping youngsters to implement the concept and also joining the activities of collecting and all these ending with hicking, climbing picknicing in clean nature together as a reward from one side and as a thank from the other side

    Positive emotions: joy, becoming human oriented having as goal the importance of a clean nature and its benefits, tydind frienships,socializing, energy, empathy,sharing like careing,feeling the change maker sense of responsability,love for nature
    Cultural benefits
    1.Visiting deprived areas and discovering new great natural places full of history, natural miracles like caves, canyons, rivers undiscovered so far by city inhabitans that must be protected by unresponsible bad throwing garbage habits
    2.Tasting the flavour of traditional healthy food at each rural picnick offered by the youngsters/ people of the visited deprived areas as a thank for the given sustainable imput to the volunteers and younsters from the city
    3.Traditions and cultural sharings of the visited deprived areas, having the inclusion factor involved for these communities
    4.Acknowledging the cultural heritage of the rural areas
    5. Sharing good cultural practices of protecting the nature
    All these done in 2 years, each month of May involving 30 areas and 1500 people trained
    The areas were chosen by the youngsters according to a deep research : according to the law rate of collecting in s sustsinable way, rromani communities, isolated communities,natural heritage areas deprived of garbbage control and surveillance.
    In all the mentioned areas the targeted communities were involved directly by being contacted through their municipalities , school representatives with sustainable education salubrity agents ( that provided garbage cans for the cathegories involved)
    All these deprived communities( isolated , rromani and migrant families) from deprived areas were involved directly in the process of change making mentalty about the importance of sustsinability and clean nature .Caring is sharing too all cathegoties of people : sharing responsabile sustainable mentality through active outdoor games, offering tools to clean the nature and collect in a sustainable way , offering great collective experiences while teaching a non formal method of being responsible with nature involving all from youngster to youngster and volunteer employees of different companies lead to a great experience from all involved sides
    Starting with educating the youngsters of the targeted communities, involving municipality and schools from the area bringing mentality input through games, collecting garbage from their community, sharing together outdoor lunches, doing outdoor activites such as via ferrata, zumba , sport games all these lead to social matter and positive impact in the community touching, by the wave of change brought by the youngsters, all the citizens of the community a long term benefit for sustsinable life style.
    Other schools from the neighbour areas asked for the same involbment from our part due to the results seen .
    The call of this initiative was of the Regional council of Bihor county for the Ngo’ s in the area
    We involved the local municipalities and their persons in charge with the sustsinable issue in the area, youngsters from schools in the city, schools and youngsters from the deprived areas, volunteers from industrial companies and salubrity companies
    It was a design of integrated education:Chemistry, Biology, Geography, Sport, Ecology,Psychology, non formal education, Project management and volunteering
    All these disciplines were interconnected and melted one into another having the aim of changing mentality and practice good habits about having a sustainable lifestile in connection with a clean nature
    1.Youngsters from the city interacted with the deprived municipalities( way of thinking, way of addressing to authorities and involv them in the oricess)
    2.Youngsters from the city interacted with teachers in deprived schools
    3.Youngsters from cities interacted with youngsters from the deprived areas and shared , from youth to youth the concepts about asustaibable life through active lifestyle
    4. Youngsters from the city interecred with companies asking their help in funding these activities and also sending employees as volunteers in the cleaning campaigns and activities
    5.Youth assigning youth to become change makers in their communities regarding sustainability , responsible collecting habits of garbage and waste
    6.Youth asking the salubrity agents to come and offer cans and tools in these areas for tge community in order to implement the educational input about sustainability
    The added value was that youngsters were organizers and ambassadors of sustainability being directly involved in this process
    Youth creating a hub and network of ambassodors ( of both sides- youth from the city - that hearing about the project joined more and more the activities- and youth from deprived areas becoming change makers in their communities)of sustainability for deprived communities through youth of these communities in deprived areas for deprived cathegories
    The frame of this project was the context created by youth for youth having as stepping stones the stakeholders from industrial companies and salubrity companies as support, is totally eligible to be transferred and replicated having immediate response and being able to be transferred in any community
    Approach of integrated education design and non formal education concepts
    Global challenges-sustainable lifestyle, responsible collecting habits of garbage and waste, ecology, protecting the nature, doing sport/ having an active life
    Local solutions that we addresses-providing cans and tools in order to implement the inputed concept of sustainability, collecting with responsability , protecting nature
    Offering educational input about the mentioned issues
    Offering best practices regarding implementing the mebtioned global challenges
    Forming youth to be changemakers
    Implementing in the deprived communities
    Creating Eco Labs that were using the games and activities done during the project
    The scope of progressis that we have been doing it for the last two years in the month of May under the Cleaning Month and we intend to folow the same patters and transferring it to other communities through youngsters helped by companies authorities municipalities
