Apihouse is a multifunctional building, which is used for Apitherapy - therapy with bee products. The building must always include bee hives, which are placed in such a way that it is possible to sit and lie on them, without possible danger to the client. It is an insulated wooden building with complete sanitary facilities, an infrared sauna, in which honey and propolis inhalation takes place, a bed for one person placed above 5 hives (here apitherapy place by lying on the hives).

  • Description of the project
Apihouse is a multifunctional building. It is an insulated wooden building with complete sanitary facilities, apisauna (infrared sauna, in which inhalation of apiproducts - honey and propolis - takes place), a bed for one person located above 5 hives (apitherapy takes place by lying on the hives, which uses the energy biofield of bees and at the same time it is possible to inhale the air caught), massage bed (during apitherapy and apitherapy massages clients are exposed to the air from the side hives near the bed and at the same time to the energy biofield of bees). Part of the services in the field of apitherapy or apitherapeutic massages is also a combination with traditional Chinese medicine again using bee products such as honey, propolis, royal jelly or bee venom. The Apidomek is made of a concrete base on which there is underfloor heating (for the use of the Apidomek during the winter), there are also wooden beams and the walls are built of wooden materials and covered with boards and insulated with wool. The roof is made of tin. The building meets the hygiene requirements. The building contains a toilet, a shower and a washbasin.
Apitherapy - therapy with bee products, is a common medical therapy in countries in southern and eastern Europe, Asia, some western countries such as Portugal and America. Apimasages are different types of commonly known massages, but they are performed in the bee biofield, but above all they use bee products and specific movements taught only in apitherapy. The managing director and implementer is a certified apitherapist and massage therapist. Currently she has completed more than 40 different courses - apitherapy, massage, TCM. She interconnects these skills within her services. When building Apidomek, the owner was inspired and discussed partial activities with colleagues in the field of apitherapy from Slovakia, Slovenia, Czech Republic, Romania and Portugal.

Apihouse is a wooden building that can be realized anywhere. At the same time, its activities specialize in self-healing, self-regeneration and relaxation for clients, who through this activity think more about nature, bees and environmental sustainability for themselves and future generations. We are changing not only the health status but also the mindset of people who realize that nature is more important than they originally thought. Interest in this therapy and apidomics in general is growing every year.
The design of the Apihouse is tuned so as not to have a disturbing effect during therapy. The main construction element is wood. The additional elements in the Apihouse are consistent with its purpose. The experience of visiting the Apihouse is enhanced by the energy of the bees, which you can feel as soon as you enter, as well as the use of scented sticks during the therapy accompanied by meditation music. There is no similar Apihouse in the Czech Republic, and therefore the experience of visiting it is unique. This is confirmed by hundreds of visitors who have participated in apitherapy, various workshops and excursions. At the same time, people who visit Apihouse become more interested in the life of bees and nature in general.
Within the framework of apitherapy or zootherapy with bees we also cooperate with special primary schools (for people with mental retardation, deaf, etc.). We also cooperate with NGOs, e.g. - low-threshold services - Humanitarian Association Perspektiva, z.s. Apihouse is wheelchair accessible. There is also cooperation with homes for the elderly and other non-profit organizations. As part of the cooperation, their clients come to Apihouse and relax in its environment. Pricing in this case is always determined on the basis of the possibilities of the cooperating organization or client. The only thing we insist on in this case is the reimbursement of material costs.
When building Apihouse, the owner was inspired and discussed partial activities with colleagues from the field of apitherapy from Slovakia, Slovenia, Czech Republic, Romania and Portugal. The knowledge and needs of existing clients (those who come for massages, counselling) are also included.

During the implementation of the idea, communication with the general public and citizens living in the village took place, including discussion with the beekeeping community in the region. People visiting the Apihouse often go on to visit monuments in the region and other restaurants. Apihouse is therefore an attraction that increases the income of more than just one municipality.
There was only support in the form of motivation. No funding was provided by stakeholders. The owner of Apihouse implemented the project only from her personal funds.
The managing director and implementer is a certified apitherapist and massage therapist. Currently she has completed more than 40 different courses - apitherapy, massage, traditional Chinese medicine. She interconnects these skills within her services. When building Apihouse, the owner was inspired and discussed partial activities with colleagues in the field of apitherapy from Slovakia, Slovenia, Czech Republic, Romania and Portugal.
Apihouse and the activities carried out in it have a double impact.1) Clients learn to take care of their health. They also learn various natural techniques that they can apply to their relatives, thus reducing the need for visits to health care facilities.
    2) Clients reflect more on nature, the need to protect it and the various interactions that exist between nature and humans. At the same time, the activities offered attract other enthusiasts, which provides so-called examples of good practice. These enthusiasts take over the activities and apply them further.
Such a multifunctional Apihouse with these extended activities is unique in the Czech Republic and does not exist anywhere else in the Czech Republic. Mostly, there are apidomeks for lying for two persons of small size, or beehives where educational programmes are held. The uniqueness of the Apihouse lies in the combination of services and equipment offered, the unique construction, where the beehives are operated from the outside. Inside, there is a fully sanitary facility for client care.
During my studies of apitherapy, massage and the beekeeping craft, I have noticed that existing apitherapy practices are very narrowly focused on bee product therapies only, but most apitherapists do not know the life needs of bees and do not know how to transition from the field of apitherapy to other fields and services for people with health problems. At the same time, I wanted part of the Apihouse to include education both about the life of bees and ways to "self-treat" some problems. Gradually, the vision of the Apihouse as a multifunctional facility that fulfills all of these visions came into being. In the Apihouse it is possible to educate, massage with a combination of apitherapy, and even offer a pleasant environment for the bees. Of course, it was also necessary to create a relaxing environment for the clients, as today's hectic times, negative news, disconnection from nature, unhealthy environment, increase stress and cause many health problems. When relaxing in the Apihouse, clients get back to nature, use their basic energies, use all their senses and leave their problems "outside".
Many elements of my project are already being transferred to other places. Some fellow beekeepers, apitherapists, or just bee enthusiasts have been inspired and are acquiring small Apihouse, which they are equipping with some of the elements that are in our Apihouse. Similarly, some massage therapists are starting to apply apitherapy in their massages and vice versa, some apitherapists are incorporating massage into their client care. Among other things, many beekeepers have been inspired by our education and are adopting our ideas. Similarly, when I give lectures on apitherapy to different groups of the population (beekeepers, general public), the audience adopts different therapeutic methods, which I like to consult and teach them.
Perhaps the main global challenge is to learn to take care of our health. And this is primarily through nature, natural products and a general return to nature. The other global challenge is beekeeping and, in particular, caring for or understanding bees. By visiting Apihouse, awareness and desire to support the life of bees and protect nature is increased.
