Wonder Bee&Beeis a beautiful wooden structure, surrounded by working beehives, in which you observe the behaviour of bees close-up, and experience their sounds and scents,in complete safety. Built and owned by the local community, Wonder Bee&Bee is the brainchild of Rocco Filomeno, a beekeeper from the small village Grottole in southern Italy. This immersive observatory is the first of its kind in the world - an inspirational experience for school groups, families, and nature-loving tourists.

'Il Castello' former factory restoration in the Emilia Romagna countryside, Ferrara, Italy

Born for the drying of tobacco and synthesis of a landscape intended for work, the ancient factory called ‘Il Castello’ is recovered for new uses, opening up to the Community as a court of collective knowledge, theater of public-private synergies aimed at regenerating the land over which it dominates. Respect for environmental values has led the intervention to develop almost exclusively inside the building, reconfigured in order to restore its semantic identity in the contemporary dimension.

The rocky coastline on the surroundings of Barrañan beach at the Arteixo Municipality area was chosen as an area that could support possible lightweight infrastructures which would mark and connect existing paths along the Atlantic coast. The workshop aimed to develop participants’ sensitivities to working with wood, by manually constructing a small inhabitable structure.

In an old ruined manor house in a small post industrial town of Jelšava, NGO Čierne diery created an adventure accommodation. In the derelict part of the Coburg mansion, together with the 2021 architects, they installed glass cabins and metal gangplanks. Visitors can book overnight stays in the building and become both witnesses and sponsors of the mansion’s conversion. The cabins are positioned within authentic spaces so as not to impede restoration of the building – if it ever happens.

The collection embodies nature thanks to carefully chosen natural or deadstock materials. The garment cut is solved with zero-waste, fulfilling a theme of limitation as an opportunity for new content and form. The silhouettes and cuts are unique, feminine, versatile, and functional. Aesthetically such a Bauhaus uniform of the new era.

Co-design and co-fabrication of rehabilitation solutions to improve the quality of life in El Raval

This project articulates a methodology of assisted rehabilitation in vulnerable residential communities through the co-design of replicable, small-scale projects and their further co-fabrication and implementation in five multi-family buildings in the Raval neighbourhood. Efficient low-cost, recyclable, license-free solutions that can be self-constructed with the assistance of local professionals and entities respond to the local and global urgency of improving living spaces in deprived areas.
