    Reet Aus, PhD, is a sustainable fashion designer who uses industrial upcycling to reduce the fashion industry’s impact on the environment by circulating fabrics leftover from mass production back into production using the design. In mass production, an average of 25-40% of new fabrics are considered pre-consumer waste and end up in landfills. Reet Aus uses a science-based production model UPMADE® and for the first time, she produced a collection from pre-consumer leftover fabrics in Europe.

    Providing a reusable modular construction for the Post-Mandatory Education Office in Barcelona

    One temporary construction becoming Another. This space was created with reused materials, coming from a temporary installation at a School in Barcelona. The wood screens and light tubes are rearranged in the Post-Compulsory Education Office. Since the modules could be directly reused, construction waste has been reduced and contributes to a sustainable outcome. From start to finish, only three months were planned. This lead to co-managing the design and the construction simultaneously.

It is a completely accessible building, whose design responds to the needs of all users, and allowing free access to its spaces with facilities for everyone, transferring architectural concepts to sensory experiences, both tactile, and sound, to bring the architectural experience to the neediest.

The methodology UDUM adopted to reach the broadest audience was co-design and co-producing simple and direct means such as music, water bottles, springs/waterways trekking paths and maps.

    An abandoned quarry at the feet of the Alps is given a new life becoming a natural theater

    While all the theaters in the world were closed due to the pandemic, a natural stone theater took life from a former extraction quarry at the foothill of the Italian Alps, thanks to an innovative and challenging environmental redevelopment. Tones on the Stones accepted the challenge with the building of Tones Teatro Natura, a place surrounded by nature, dedicated to the new generations and offering them brave new visions to build a more sustainable future.
