Our initiative is called "KOMPOSTO", taken from the literally translated word "Compost". The aim is to create a new culture through education, on the importance of composting food waste instead of throwing nutritious material away. It promotes waste-free circulation and awareness & it reinforces new habits in waste management. Composting in schools helps keep food waste out of landfills, which is acknowledged as one of the best and easiest ways to combat the climate crisis.

CROSSBORDER LABORATORY OF INTANGIBLE CULTURAL HERITAGE FROM PORTUGAL AND GALICIA

The inmaterial cultural heritage (ICH) education model developed by Ponte...nas ondas! (PNO!, Bridge on the waves) has been implemented for 27 years in 300 schools on both sides of the Portuguese-Galician border (see: http://opatrimonio.org). Sounding the Underworld

’Sounding the Underworld’ engages with the invertebrates and microorganisms that inhabit the world under our feet, a world that we take for granted, abuse and generally know very little about.
Interweaving an installation, citizen science workshops focused on local soils and a pilot study, the project will make audible the creatures that metabolize leaves, wood, grass and other carbon sources to create a healthy soil matrix, and forges a path towards understanding soil health.
