Ingenious ecosystems
Ingenious ecosystems: third landscapes as models for regeneration in architecture
Italy
“Third landscapes” or neglected, semi-natural spaces are everywhere and can pose many problems: pollution, crime, illicit behavior, health and safety risks. Yet these abandoned landscapes can also serve as models for design, exemplifying regenerative and resilient systems to be studied, understood, respected, supported, and duplicated. Taking the example of Piazza d’Armi in Milan, we present a methodology for reappropriation, one that is attentive to the living, breathing nature of these spaces.

A nostalgic porcelain lamp
A nostalgic shaped lamp with a technical twist
Estonia
Egg lamp is inspired by the Soviet brand Estoplast’ s production which played a huge role in the Soviet Union. The lamp’ s technical solution enables the combination of several lamps to create light chains of various lengths. It has been made using the principles of slow design which is an anti-consumer culture movement to encourage repairing and lengthening the lifetime of products. The visual language is kept timeless so that the lamp would provide aesthetic value in the future as well.

Nature Invasion
Allowing nature to invade a power plant by turning it in a botanical academic centre aiming to help.
Belgium , Poland
I propose giving power plants back to nature. The power plant Monceau-sur-Sambre in Charleroi, Belgium. Its design is breathtaking. The result of this transformation will be an academic institution that will serve as a European botanical research centre that will help on preserving Europe's treasure, nature. This institution will help countries dealing with a major problem, barren lands. Nature will have invaded this retired oxygen-killing machine, invaded it with plants, flowers, and kids.

A toy car building kit for empty cartons
A toy car that provokes creativity is sustainable- lasts a lifetime and can be built again and again
Estonia
It is a remote control toy car building kit for children that replaces the need to buy several toy cars since the car can be built again and again. It can be used to build cars out of different food packages that would otherwise be thrown away. If a child builds the body of a car out of a used package, it provokes them to wash it and later recycle it.

Youngs and the nature
Distracting young people from computers and phones and introducing them to the benefits of nature
Bosnia and Herzegovina
With this project, a small artificial lake would be built. All interested inhabitants, but above the youngs, would be visiting it, in order to spend their free time in nature and learn the basics of sport fishing. The fishing society would also animate children with special needs, as well as disabled persons, who could also participate in these activities. In this way, young people would get away from computers and phones and get to know the benefits of nature.

Molten salt regeneration for carbon capture utilization
Estonia , Spain
The idea for the project called MoReCCU was born from the need to maximize resource efficiency. UP Catalyst reprocesses CO2 to produce carbon nanomaterials and graphite, using the electrolysis method with molten salt as an electrolyte. Renowned experts from the industry and academia joined forces to develop a revolutionary molten salt regeneration technology based on circular economy principles, significantly reducing waste and increasing the reuse of carbonate salt by up to 100 times.
