Our Sound Space (OSS) is an interactive sound installation at Fleminsberg Campus (Huddinge) that invites you to tune in and via your smartphone shape the sonic environment of that public space. You can select different soundscapes and chill out to the refreshing and regenerative effects of the soundscapes of your choice, selecting different combinations of soundscapes from natural environments (melting iceberg, forest, riverside etc.) to man-made sounds (heart bit, children playing, ect).

G.J. Mendel's Legacy to Science, Culture and Humanity

On the 200th anniversary of Gregor Mendel's birth, Augustinian Abbey in Brno, Czech Republic, brought back to life Mendel´s Greenhouse. The design by CHYBIK+KRISTOF architects is deeply rooted in his work and continuing his legacy of a dialogue between science and faith is needed especially in these difficult times. Honoring this figure, stigmatized for his origins and faith by the political regimes of the past is important for reconciliation with the past and to find a sense of belonging.

The house is similar to its pre-existence, but it acquires, with its geometric singularity, the illusion of living in an expansive and three-dimensional place through the drawing of its architectural plans. Almudena, the new owner and user is a young lawyer who has managed to assert herself vitally through a new housing concept. This apartment aims to use the intimate, the work and the cultural in a diluted and flexible way to integrate into our post-pandemic socio-economic structures.

Torre Mornau Renaturalization: wetlands and brackish lagoons at Aiguamolls de l’Empordà

The Emporda’s wetlands are a unique biological reserve in the North of Catalonia. In this area Torre d’En Mornau includes 118 hectares of brackish lagoons, crop fields with 5345 sqm of build area. The intervention included the recovery of the existing buildings and improving the situation of the natural brackish lagoons and wetlands as biodiversity reserve while recovering also some traditional uses of the existing buildings by reintroducing the endangered Vaca de L’Albera cow breed.

Aalborg East: How a strategic masterplan can turn an area from isolated to inclusive

Once a deprived residential district in Denmark's fourth-largest city, Aalborg East is now safe, with redesigned outdoor spaces, improved public lighting, new services and shops. Social housing has been renovated while remaining affordable and other homes have been built to develop diversity in the neighbourhood. Tenants, local associations, businesses and their staff were involved in the process from initial ideas to implementation, making this redevelopment a model of co-creation.

Kyklos is a community space and lab for the creation of a circular neighborhood, with the building as a reference point. It is the practical application of beautiful design for a circular purpose. It combines functionality and sustainability with aesthetics to provide a new community use for an abandoned building.

The requirements for sustainable construction include energy efficiency and climate neutrality, preservation of biodiversity, conservation of resources and use of renewable raw materials, sustainable procurement of products and services including compliance with human rights in the supply chain. All these requirements must be addressed. With these aims in mind, the FUTURE HOME developed.
