    My mural, my city

    The workshop is based on being part of a creative process, changing the perception of common spaces and experimenting through art. Different classroom activities show the process behind the realization of a mural artwork, leading a group of vulnarable young people to the definition of their own expressive shape. The aim is to make accessible the artistic process through participation and active experience: a methodology which draws from relational art to involve both students and teachers.

    The Trash Traveler & Team aim to raise awareness about environmental issues with fun, creativity and the extraordinary since 2019. A 58 day hiking adventure along the entire coast of Portugal by the founder Andreas Noe connected a community. A year later, 1.1 million cigarette butts were collected within 2 months. These and further projects brought 2000 people and 100 NGOs on the ground together to raise awareness complemented by Ukulele awareness songs, trash art pieces and documentaries.

In an active and hybrid learning environment, transdisciplinary teams design in iterations sustainable solutions for the plastics sector, which they test, evaluate and communicate with the stakeholders. The content is important, but its application in the context is key. This leads to problem-solving skilled students with an inclusive way of thinking.

It is a co-creation project to create a sustainable school, where students are agents of change, promoting biodiversity through a physical transformation of the space, and a real pedagogical transformation through active methodologies and learning through nature.
